Cassique was Tom Watson's debut North American design, opening in 2000 as a links-style course routed through Kiawah Island's maritime forest and marshland. It has hosted the 2003 Palmer Cup, the 2009 U.S. Mid-Amateur, and the 2023 USGA Four-Ball Championship.
