The South Course at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio was designed by Bert Way and opened in 1929 for Harvey Firestone's tire company employees. Robert Trent Jones redesigned it in 1960, and the course went on to host three PGA Championships (1960, 1966, 1975) and later the World Series of Golf and WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
