Laurel Hill was designed by architect Bill Love, whose other credits include the Iron Forge Course at Penn National and Hunting Hawk in Glen Allen, Virginia. It was built on land that formerly housed the D.C. Department of Corrections facility at Lorton, and Love said he let the property's natural terrain and early American course design dictate its character. The course closes Tuesday mornings and the range opens later than usual, for maintenance starting in mid-March.
