The Deerwood Course at The Clubs of Kingwood was designed by Joseph S. Finger and opened in 1983. Its par-4 13th hole was used as the fictional par-5 18th in the golf movie Tin Cup, played by Kevin Costner's character Roy McAvoy, and a plaque now marks the spot of his repeated approach shots into the water. The par-5 10th is the course's longest hole, and an island green on the par-3 4th adds to a layout built around several holes bordered by water and lakes.
