🏛 Designed by Tom Doak
The Rawls Course at Texas Tech in Lubbock was designed by Tom Doak and opened in 2003 on what had been flat cotton fields. Doak moved 1.3 million cubic yards of topsoil to shape the land into contours mimicking terrain east and south of Lubbock, producing wide fairways and boldly contoured greens. Golfweek has ranked it the second-best playable course in Texas and third-best college campus course in the country.
