🏛 Designed by George Cobb (1955)
Green Valley was founded in the mid-1950s by Greenville businessmen, several of whom were also Augusta National members, with ambitions of creating the Augusta National of South Carolina. George Cobb, who had previously worked at Augusta National, laid out the course in the Blue Ridge Mountain foothills near the Reedy River. From its founding the club welcomed women and junior golfers, a progressive stance for its era, and after financial difficulty it was purchased by the Kaplan family in 2011, which funded course and clubhouse renovations.
