Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio opened as a nine-hole course in 1903 and was rebuilt as a championship layout by Donald Ross, finished in 1918. The private club has hosted four U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships and the Solheim Cup; Byron Nelson served as its head professional from 1940 to 1944.
