Friar's Head, on Long Island's North Fork, opened in 2003, a Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw design across tree-covered dunes formed by glacial deposits between coastal bluffs and farmland. It is a regular top-15 course on Golf Digest's U.S. rankings.
