🏛 Designed by Devereux Emmet (1891)
Bedford Golf and Tennis Club began in 1891 as the Bedford Lawn Tennis Club, adding a golf course in 1896 after acquiring more land. In the 1920s the club brought in architect Devereux Emmet to redesign the original nine and build a second nine, opening an 18-hole layout in 1928 with narrow, tree-lined fairways. A later modernization by architect Ken Dye added black tees, fairway bunkers and a new par-five hole, and the USGA counts Bedford among the 100 oldest courses in America.
