The Golf Club of New England was conceived in 1999 by a group of Seacoast-area businessmen and built as a private course spanning Stratham and Greenland, New Hampshire. Arnold Palmer served as lead designer with Ed Seay as head designer. In 2012 the club hosted the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, the first USGA championship held in New Hampshire, with Andy Bo Shim defeating Jim Liu 4 and 3 in the 36-hole final.
