Saint Louis Country Club began in 1892 as a polo club, and its golf course opened in 1896. The club moved to its present Ladue site in 1913, where Charles Blair Macdonald designed the course with engineering help from Seth Raynor. It hosted the 1921 US Amateur, the 1947 US Open won by Lew Worsham in a playoff, and the 2014 Curtis Cup.
