Country Club of Detroit
Grosse Pointe Farms, MI
🏛 Designed by Donald Ross; Tom Bendelow (1900); Tom Doak (restoration)
Founded in 1897, the club's original course by Bert Way was reworked by Harry Colt and Charles Alison in 1912, then given a full redesign by Robert Trent Jones Sr in 1952. A 2011 renovation returned the layout to the Colt and Alison design. The club has hosted two US Amateurs, in 1915 and in 1954, when Arnold Palmer won his first USGA title, plus the 2021 US Senior Amateur.
