Cape Cod National Golf Club opened for play on June 24, 1998, with 75 of its original 200 members in the inaugural round. Architect Brian Silva of Cornish, Silva and Mungeam was retained in December 1994 to design the course on 154 acres of land. Construction began in January 1997, with Wadsworth Construction Company relocating 750,000 tons of soil and laying 850,000 square feet of sod.
