The Bears Club spans 369 acres of native Florida terrain that Jack Nicklaus shaped to include wetlands and give the course a Lowcountry feel. Its bunkering draws inspiration from Australia's Royal Melbourne Golf Club, with 354 bunkers spread across the routing, and the closing stretch includes a run of par-5 holes ending at a pear-shaped 18th green beside a Tuscan-style clubhouse.
