Hardscrabble Country Club was built on the former site of Hardscrabble Farm, a fruit orchard, and opened in 1926 to a design by Perry Maxwell. Jay and Carter Morrish led a 1998 renovation that modernized the bunkers and greens while preserving Maxwell's original layout.
